Bible memory homework ideas

This is a good game for introducing a new memory verse. Using a white board, put underscore dashes on the board for every letter in each word of the memory verse eg. Jesus wept = _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _. Divide everybody into 2 groups.

Make “Bible Blobs”: Let kids use modeling dough to create symbols that go along with key words of the memory verse. “Thou Shalt Knot:” Ask students to stand and form a circle. Give a yarn ball to a student. That student should say the first word of the memory verse.

Cut the words apart. Tape the words to a wall or table. Have your child say the verse out loud, then remove one word. Have your child say the verse again, seeing if they can remember the missing word. Then, have your child take away another word. Repeat, until all of the words are gone and your child is saying the verse from memory.

Knock Out: If you’re using a Bible memory poster or have the verse written on a whiteboard, use self-stick notes to cover up a few words of the memory verse. Have kids say the passage. Then cover up more words, and have kids say it again. Keep going until all the words are covered up. Phrase It: Divide the class into 2 groups.
